Buddy Invite official rules

Buddy Invite is run by DIVEROID LTD, the maker of WatchDive (company no. 16343651, Office 12146, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London E6 2JA, United Kingdom). Questions: help@diveroid.com.

Who can take part

You must be 18 or older, or 19 or older if you live in South Korea, and at least the age of majority where you live. Employees and contractors of DIVEROID LTD and its group companies, people who help run this program, and their households cannot receive physical rewards. You may join from anywhere, but underwater lights and WatchDive prizes can only be sent to a country the WatchDive Kickstarter campaign ships to. We will publish that list on this page before the closing time. If you live elsewhere, you still get the early launch email and the Dive Team link, but a physical reward passes to the next person in order. The program is void where prohibited by law.

Period

The program starts on 22 October 2026 and closes immediately before the WatchDive Kickstarter campaign goes live, and no later than 31 January 2027, 23:59 Korea Standard Time. The campaign is planned for December 2026. We will announce the exact closing time on this page and by email at least 7 days in advance.

How to take part

Join the WatchDive waitlist and confirm your email. You then get a personal invite link and a referral code. A friend counts for you when they join through your link or enter your code, then confirm their email.

No purchase or Kickstarter pledge is needed to take part or to win. You use the early-bird price link only if you choose to back the campaign.

What counts

Only friends who confirm their email count, and each person counts once. A repeat sign-up by the same person does not count again, including the same mailbox written another way (for example a Gmail address with dots or a +tag, or the same name at icloud.com, me.com and mac.com). Your own address never counts for you, and inviting yourself with another address breaks the fair play rules. Addresses from known disposable email services and sign-ups flagged as abusive do not count either.

A friend counts for the invite link or referral code they used when they first joined the waitlist. Joining again through another link or code does not move them to another inviter or count them twice. Friends who joined through your link and confirmed their email before the program started on 22 October 2026 also count.

At most 10 friends are counted for one person per day, by the day each friend confirms (Korea Standard Time). Friends over that limit are not counted, and they do not carry over to a later day. Friends who confirm after the closing time do not count.

Counts are frozen at the closing time. A counted friend who later unsubscribes from WatchDive emails still counts. A friend who asks us to delete their data, or whom we remove in review, stops counting.

Once you reach a tier and we tell you, you keep it unless our review finds that the friends who got you there broke these rules. If you unsubscribe from WatchDive emails yourself, you keep the rewards you have reached, but we can no longer send you the early launch email or notices.

Fair play

One entry per person. Share your link only with people you know who would want to hear about WatchDive. You may not sign up other people without their consent, pay or reward anyone for signing up, send bulk or unsolicited messages, use referral-exchange sites, post your link where promotion is not allowed (including replies or comments on WatchDive’s own ads), or buy ads that use your link. Friends gained that way do not count. If you post your link in public, say that you receive a reward when people join.

Each person and each household can receive at most one underwater light and one WatchDive prize; one person can win both. We check this at shipping by name, address and phone number.

Rewards

1 friend: the Kickstarter launch email 1 hour before the general list. The general list is everyone on the waitlist who has not reached a Buddy Invite tier.

3 friends (Buddy): the launch email 2 hours before the general list.

5 friends (Dive Team): before the campaign goes live, we email you a private Kickstarter reward link at the $149 early-bird price. You can use it while the campaign is live, on the Kickstarter website (desktop or mobile browser, signed in), even after the early-bird spots for the first 100 backers are gone. It does not work in the Kickstarter app, for late pledges or in the pledge manager. One pledge per Dive Team member; please do not share the link. Shipping and any taxes are charged as for other backers.

10 friends (Dive Leader): one underwater light worth about $70. We have 30. They go to the first 30 people to reach 10 friends, in the order they reach it. When they are gone, we will say so on this page.

Top 3: the 3 people with the most counted friends at the closing time each get one WatchDive. If two people have the same count, the one who reached it first ranks higher.

A WatchDive prize is one WatchDive sensor housing, in the Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch version of the winner’s choice, worth $299 (the planned public price). The watch is not included, and WatchDive works only with the supported watch models listed on our site. Prizes have no cash alternative.

If the campaign is late or does not go ahead

If the Kickstarter campaign has not gone live by 31 January 2027, 23:59 Korea Standard Time, the program closes at that time anyway. Once we have announced the closing time, we move it at most once, and only with at least 48 hours’ email notice before the original time. Even if the campaign does not reach its goal, is cancelled or is delayed, the top 3 still each receive a WatchDive. If we end the program early, we rank people by their counts at that time and award the top 3 prizes on that basis.

Review and disqualification

The underwater light order and the leaderboard ranking are provisional until review. Before any light or WatchDive is sent, we review the counted friends. We may remove friends that break these rules and disqualify anyone who uses fake or automated sign-ups or breaks the fair play rules. We email winners within 14 days after the closing time (lights: within 14 days after review). If a winner does not reply within 14 days, or cannot receive the reward under these rules, the light passes to the next Dive Leader in the order of reaching 10 friends, and a WatchDive prize passes to the next person in the ranking.

Delivery, shipping and taxes

Recipients pay shipping and any import duties or taxes. We ship only to countries the WatchDive Kickstarter campaign ships to. Lights are sent after review, and all physical rewards are sent before March 2027.

For winners who live in South Korea, Korean law requires the payer to withhold 22% income tax (other income tax plus local income tax) on a prize whose taxable value is over KRW 50,000. This applies to both the underwater light (worth about $70) and the WatchDive. Before we ship, we tell you the amount and ask you to pay it to us, and we report and pay it to the tax office. For this we ask Korean winners for their legal name, resident registration number and address, used only for the tax report and kept only as long as tax law requires.

Leaderboard and privacy

The leaderboard shows only a nickname you set and choose to show. Your email address is never shown. People who do not choose to show a nickname appear as “Private diver”. A nickname has 2 to 16 characters: letters, numbers, spaces, dots, hyphens and underscores, without mixing Latin with Cyrillic or Greek letters. It cannot contain an email address, phone number or link, or look like a name of WatchDive, Kickstarter or their staff (such as “admin” or “official”). We may hide a nickname that is offensive or impersonates someone. The leaderboard and the counts on your invite page are updated every few minutes, so a new friend can take a few minutes to appear.

Changes

If we must change or end the program, we will announce it here and by email first. Changes never take away a reward you have already reached and never reduce the prizes for the top 3.
